Hello Radiant Recovery Friend!
This week, I'm sharing about one of my favorite tools in my personal recovery nutrient toolbox, Fatty15. It's food for my brain, body, and quest for longevity. If any of those areas of your life need support, this email is for you.
What is Fatty15 and How Can It Aid Your Recovery?
Fatty15 is a supplement containing C15:0 (pentadecanoic acid), a pure and odd-chain saturated fatty acid essential for your health. Discovered by helping one of our playful beings, the dolphinsβ¦
The Science Behind Fatty15
Recent studies suggest that C15:0 strengthens cellular structure, supports mitochondrial function, and enhances cellular signaling. Fatty15 brings a fresh approach to supporting your sobriety journey by enhancing your physical health and strengthening the core elements of your biological well-being.
The Problem it Solves and Support for Recovery
Maintaining your sobriety can be particularly challenging when the body is struggling from a lack of nourishment, immune challenges, and, Oh yeah, getting through that Pandemic! Your well-supported body can be a powerful ally in the fight against cravings and relapse. Fatty15 can play a significant role in a comprehensive recovery strategy by enhancing your body's resilience.
Fatty15 is an essential fatty acid supplement, a pure form of pentadecanoic acid known as C15:0, a saturated fatty acid linked to various health benefits. Research suggests that Fatty15 has anti-inflammatory properties, and higher concentrations of C15:0 are associated with lower risks of chronic health issues. Fatty15 has been shown to be three times more effective than EPA, a commonly known omega-3 fatty acid, at the cellular level.
The potential of Fatty15 extends beyond just the cellular benefits. It's been highlighted as a natural and safe option for enhancing long-term health and wellness.

People using Fatty15 have reported improved sleep quality, lowered stress levels, and enhanced physical performance. Do I have to say more? Better sleep, less stress? Are you with me?!
It also supports metabolic health by activating AMPK, an essential glucose regulator. This can play a crucial role in maintaining energy balance and reducing cravings, a common challenge in sobriety. My sweet tooth has practically disappeared!
Studies have shown that Fatty15 activates PPAR alpha, which can help achieve better sleep quality β a significant factor for those recovering from addiction.
Beyond my personal experience and that of all my clients, Fatty15βs contribution to recovery is compelling. This company is doing such good work that the supplement has been donated to support holistic, evidence-based treatments and therapies, underscoring its role in holistic wellness! The science behind C15:0 continues to grow, and its effectiveness in helping veterans is a testament to its potential in aiding those in recovery.
The Mechanism of action and its relevance to recovery from alcohol and addiction. π¬
Ethanol, commonly found in alcoholic beverages, has been shown to activate a protein called sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP-1), leading to lipogenic enzyme production. These enzymes are part of the body's fat creation and regulation processes. For those in recovery, it's vital to understand how these biological changes can affect your health.
When discussing treatment for alcohol dependence, it's wild to consider that there are only three approved drugs: disulfiram, naltrexone, and acamprosate. OMG, who wants to do that? Go on a drug to get off an addictive substance? The human body is so resilient, and what we humans do to it is incredible. (Ok, rant over) However, the good news is that emerging research is bringing attention to potentially beneficial compounds, such as oleoylethanolamide (OEA), which is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and has shown neuroprotective effects in the context of alcohol.
Significantly, a metabolite of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) known as 14S, 21-diHDHA has been observed to improve wound healing and boost vascularization, which can help counteract the damage caused by alcohol. While not directly referred to as "Fatty15," DHA is a vital omega-3 fatty acid that plays a crucial role in brain health and recovery.
Chronic alcohol intake has also been linked to increased adipose tissue lipolysis, which releases more free fatty acids (FFAs) into circulation. These FFAs can affect your body, and managing their levels may be critical to your long-term recovery.
